► 2011 Mazda MX-5
The world's best-selling two-seat roadster, the iconic Mazda MX-5 Miata, continues to set the bar even higher for the competition today, reaching a new milestone of 900,000 units produced. Nearly 45 percent -- more than 388,000 units -- of those were sold in the United States since the car launched in 1989. The MX-5 made its global debut at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show and has since received several facelifts, seen many limited and special edition versions, been named "Car of the Year" multiple times around the world and topped countless "Best Sports Car" lists. But its soul has always remained that of a pure sports car, dynamically engineered and tuned to produce driver happiness, whether on a short trip from point A to point B or on extensive S-curve searches. The Zoom-Zoom driving experience evoked by the MX-5 is not lost on consumers, and has always been within their reach with the roadster's affordable pricing. "As we head toward the next production milestone of one million units, Mazda is committed to further evolving the MX-5," said Seita Kanai, Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) executive officer, research and development. "We will refine its fun-to-drive character as well as further enhance its environmental and safety capabilities. In the years ahead, we will continue to cherish the MX-5 alongside its loyal fan base as the symbol of the Mazda brand." The first-generation MX-5 Miata (1990-1997 model years) was equipped with a 1.6-liter, inline four- cylinder engine that produced 116 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. A removable hardtop was optional and initial color choices were red, white and blue. The starting price was $14,000, and early production of the affordable, grin-inducing roadster could not meet the enthusiastic demand of consumers. A redesigned second-generation model was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997 (model years 1999- 2005 -- there was no 1998 model-year car) and the third generation model was introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2005 (model years 2006-present). Currently equipped with an MZR-series 2.0-liter, inline four-cylinder engine, today's MX-5 produces 167 horsepower (158 for automatic transmission) and delivers 140 lb-ft of torque. The soft-topped Sport model starts at $23,110 with top-level, Power Retractable Hard Top Grand Touring models starting at $28,550. "Since Mazda launched the original MX-5, it has undergone two complete product redesigns and a series of upgrades," said Nobuhiro Yamamoto, MC program manager, MX-5. "Its enduring success is due to the strong support it enjoys from fans around the world, and I will strive to keep the MX-5's spirit alive while evolving it into a car that will be loved by even more people." The 500,000th MX-5 Miata was produced in 1999 and sold in the United States. In 2000, Guinness World Records recognized the MX-5 as the world's top-selling sports car, a distinction that has been further solidified with every 100,000 additional units built in 2002, 2005 and 2007. The 900,000th unit is a soft- top, six-speed manual-equipped Copper Red MX-5, and destined for Germany. Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada, Inc., located in Ontario; and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.

2016 Cadillac CTS V 640 HP Top Speed of 200 mph
2016 Cadillac CTS-V Cadillac introduced the 2016 CTS-V, the most powerful product in the brand's 112-year history and the newest entry in the elite class of the world's highest-performing luxury cars. Launching in late summer with 640 horsepower (477 kW), 630 lb-ft of torque (855 Nm) and a top speed of 200 mph, the new CTS-V reaches higher than its predecessors, leading Cadillac's product-driven expansion and elevation. It is the third generation of the acclaimed luxury sports sedan that launched the elite V-Series a decade ago - and redefined Cadillac for a new generation of enthusiasts. http://autoblackzone.com/ http://www.autoblackzone.com/ http://www.luweh.com/ "V-Series represents the very best of the Cadillac brand - the pinnacle of our design and technical capabilities," said Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac president. "The new CTS-V is the most compelling example of Cadillac's product substance and brand trajectory. The new CTS-V soars into the stratosphere of the most exhilarating luxury cars." Comprehensive updates make the new CTS-V essentially two cars in one: a luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car straight from the factory. It also introduces a new supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine backed by Cadillac's paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission, featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shifting. With more horsepower and torque than the Mercedes-Benz 5.5L biturbo V-8 and the BMW M-series 4.4L TwinPower (twin-turbo) V-8, the new CTS-V is capable of 0-60 performance in 3.7 seconds. http://luweh.com/ Track-honed design, chassis and suspension elements complement the supercharged powertrain and elevate CTS-V's capability, performance and driver control to new thresholds, while enabling track driving without modifications or special procedures. Key performance technologies include: Standard carbon fiber hood and available carbon fiber vent, front splitter, rear spoiler and rear diffuser for greater aerodynamic performance Brembo high-performance brake system developed to provide durability, consistency and the capability for track-day performance straight from the factory Third-generation Magnetic Ride Control delivering 40-percent faster damping response Integrated chassis controls that provide balanced performance for touring and the track, including competition-spec Performance Traction Management Structural stiffness increased by 25 percent for improved ride and superior handling Driver-selectable modes electronically calibrate performance variables for touring, sport and track driving conditions Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires with tri-compound technology offering excellent grip with extended wear An interior with performance-oriented, sueded microfiber accents and matte-finish carbon fiber trim and available RECARO high-performance seats for spirited driving Advanced safety and parking technologies, including a front curb-view camera system that provides a visual cue of curbs to protect the front splitter; automatic parking assist to find and steer into parallel or perpendicular parking spots; side blind zone alert, forward collision alert, lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alert.+ More powerful supercharged V-8 engine The power behind the new CTS-V's capability is an all-new, more powerful 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine that makes more power more efficiently than the previous Cadillac supercharged engine. It employs a more-efficient, more-compact 1.7L Supercharger and matches it with direct injection and Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation). The Supercharger's rotors are smaller in diameter than the previous supercharged engine, allowing higher maximum rpm that enables power-enhancing Boost to be generated earlier in the rpm band. That Boost is achieved more efficiently via a more direct discharge port that creates less turbulence, reducing heat and speeding airflow into the engine. The Cadillac supercharged engine also has several unique features designed to support its high output and the greater cylinder pressures created by forced induction, including Rotocast A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads that are stronger and handle heat better than conventional aluminum heads, and lightweight titanium intake valves. The CTS-V's complementing eight-speed automatic is tuned for world-class shift-response times. Smaller steps between gears keep the engine within the sweet spot of the rpm band, making the most of the output of the supercharged engine for exhilarating performance and greater efficiency. The new 8L90 transmission offers full manual control via steering wheel paddles, and Performance Algorithm Shifting to deliver shift performance that rivals the dual-clutch/semi-automatic transmissions found in many luxury performance sedans - but with the smoothness and refinement that come with a conventional automatic fitted with a torque converter.

2012 Cadillac CTS
New grille features premium finishes for mesh and frame, refined Cadillac Wreath & Crest logo CTS adds Touring Package with exclusive grille with dark finish, larger wheels and tires, metal pedals, dark Sapele wood interior and sueded wheel and shifter Bluetooth phone integration now standard on all models, Coupe has available side blind-zone alert DETROIT -- Cadillac's CTS luxury sport Sedan, Coupe and Wagon will add an upgraded V-6 engine, new grille and new Touring Package edition for the 2012 model year. The new 3.6L V-6 will use a lighter, more efficient design to give customers more power at the same fuel economy as the current 3.6L V-6. The new engine delivers an SAE-certified 318 horsepower (237 kW) and 275 lb.-ft. (372 Nm) of torque, compared to the current engine's 304 horsepower (227 kW) and 273 lb.-ft. (370 Nm) of torque. The EPA fuel economy label will remain 18 city/27 highway mpg. The CTS's distinctive shield-shaped front grille has been redesigned with new premium finishes that highlight the intricacies of a new frame and mesh combination. The Wreath & Crest logo also has sharper colors and raised ridges between the colors, giving it a three-dimensional quality. The result provides customers a CTS with a more refined appearance. The changes will be carried in all three CTS models -- CTS Sport Sedan, Sport Wagon and Coupe. The 2012 models will arrive at dealerships in late summer. Pricing will be announced closer to the start of production. "CTS has established itself as a world-class line of luxury sports cars, but to remain on top, we have to continually make improvements," said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing. "The changes for the 2012 model year give customers a fresh take on the CTS's bold front grille and provide enhanced driving performance without sacrificing fuel economy." The new grille builds on a design that has helped the CTS family win a spot on Car and Driver's 10 Best list, Popular Mechanics' Auto Excellence Awards and Automobile Magazine's All-Stars list. The new finishes on the grille add more gloss to the mesh and luster to the frame, accentuating the details in the design. The mesh also is pulled flusher to the frame, making these details stand out even more.
