Iola 2009.... there was a guy with a red Malibu with the same style blower right behind us but his car was overheating, when it had 2 radiators.....
My camera gives this truck's engine no justice.....he was leaving and we asked him to rev the truck up....
so he did and then he peels out at the last second. my camera had no batteries left in it(power was drained)
The Blower Truck
This truck is a twenty two year old hotrod. That is correct blown for 22
years. It was parked for 7 years until this video was born.

Supercharged Chevy big block
Chevy big block 1971 LS-5 supercharged with a mini blower 174 Weiand;
overdriven 2 to 1. Merlin Grumpy Jenkins (mild port/polish) heads. 8.5 to 1
JE blower pistons. Custom Comp Cams blower cam. Carb Shop modified Holley
850. Engine was built by Gromm Racing in San Jose California. The
"scientist" is Bob Gromm and the other guy is Joe when they were building
engines together. Bob is well known for his head work and Joe well known
for his short block work. The engine has been in my street hauling 1971 El
Camino since 2001. Very reliable motor that just hauls without issues.
With a well prepared 700R4, I have gotten 14 MPG on the well tuned carb.

Gotta say this is one of my fav's at the track. Just the old school look,
and still rolling on leaf spring's. And powered by a small block chevy.
