Transfer-Dump Race: The Complete Run
Mark Tarascou and his Pete 359 is seen participating in a transfer-dump
competiton at the 2011 Truckin' For Kids Truck Show. Although there were a
few glitches, it was still a good show.
For those not familiar with dump trucks like these, they are set up with a
system that allows the driver to back the truck up while they are standing
behind it to make attaching the towbar easier. The driver puts the truck
in reverse gear and shuts the engine off. At the rear is a switch or a
button that is used to engage the starter motor on the engine without
starting the truck. Since the transmission is in reverse, as the starter
motor turns the engine it also turns the driveline and backs the truck up.
I'm not a trucker so I don't know what this system or technique is called,
but that is how it works. Thanks for watching. Please rate and share this
video with your friends. Shot on 9-25-11.
Smokin' Gun Diesel Drag Race Truck, huge burnout! June 2009 Calgary
Huge burnout and a pretty decent 1/4 mile pass for a full size former
highway transport truck.
Smokin' Gun is Twin turbo, Supercharged,
and InterCharged Detroit Diesel 8V92 1968 Kenworth drag truck. Just in case
that isn't enough power, there's also a 1200 hp shot of Nitrous Oxide to give it that extra kick. It makes
3100 hp to move 9500 lbs down the 1/4 mile in less than 12.5 seconds, and
through the traps at over 120 mph! This pass is a 12.91 103.35 MPH pass at
Race City... not bad!

Banks Top Diesel Dragster: NHRDA Nationals
On March 6th, 2010 the Banks crew tested out the rail's new "Stroker" 427
cu. in., twin-turbo 7.0L Duramax engine
at the NHRDA Nationals in Wittmann, Arizona. The numbers for this trip out
were 7.670 @173.54. We were a little faster back in April 2009 when we ran 7.17 @
181.08. We've also run a best trap speed of 190MPH with the car on a
separate test session. All those runs were with our twin-turbo'd Duramax, and now we're getting set to hit
the track with a supercharged configuration. Stay tuned for that! More info
