2013 Ford Mustang V6 review: walk-around, start-up, & engine rev
Gotta love those sequential rear turn signals!!! Here's my review of the 2013 Ford Mustang. I did this at my old job at a car rental agency since I don't yet own a Mustang, though I have sought financing options for a 2013 GT500, not this V6 Mustang. This is still a very nice car, but just not enough horsepower for me ;) This 2013 Mustang has an aluminum block V6 engine mated to a Getrag-Ford MT82 6-speed automatic transmission, though a 6-speed manual is also available. Electric power steering replaces the conventional pre-2011 hydraulic version. The new 3.7 L (3.72 L or 227 cu. in.) aluminum block V6 engine shaves 40 lb (18 kg) from the outgoing, pre-2011 model year version. With 24 valves and Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing (TiVCT), it produced 305 hp (227 kW) and 280 lb·ft (380 N·m) of torque.V6 remains rated at 305 hp (227 kW) and 280 lb·ft (380 N·m). The answer of course is the Mustang GT as it has 100 more horsepower. But you already knew that. What we wanted to find out is just how much faster is not only how much the 2013 Mustang can go to 60 MPH, but also (and perhaps more importunity) how much that extra speed costs. In order to do that we got two 2013 Mustangs together and Mashed them up to find out.

The Mustang Week Staff would like to announce a major project for the 2009 Mustang Week event. In February of 2009 the Staff lost one of our own with the passing of Bill Jones. Bill was an integral part of Mustang Week. The success of Mustang Week is due in part to Bill's knowledge and experience. We began entertaining ideas of what we might do either this spring or during Mustang Week in Bill's honor. Staff member Mike Clay brought forth the idea that we feel Bill would have most appreciated. Bill was the type of person that constantly went out of his way to help someone out. Anyone that spent time around Bill knew and experienced his generous nature. He was quick to help someone make something or a situation better. Keeping with this theme, we have selected a deserving fellow Mustang enthusiast to have their car cleaned up and modified in Bill's honor. The opportunity to do this presented itself in the parking lot after Bill's funeral. We have chosen the 1995 Mustang GT convertible owned by Joel Gilchrist. Joel goes by "Rev's 5.0" here on the Mustang Week website and other sites. He is the pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Wentworth, NC, just north of Greensboro. Joel puts together and resides over the annual Mustang Week Worship Service the Sunday after all the big events and last year the youth group from his church volunteered their time to pick up trash and clean the parking lots at the mall after both the Car Show and Cruise In. The youth group will be back helping in 2009. Joel also reached out in a big way by being with Bill's family while Bill was in the hospital and then resided over and preached Bill's funeral service after his passing. We strongly feel that Joel exemplifies the moral character that Bill Jones lived by. We will reveal Rev's updated Stang at the Meet-N-Greet at Planet Hollywood, on July 21st during this years Mustang Week event. I was lucky enough to get the keys to this awesome car and wanted to share my quick blast up this canyon road with any fellow gear heads. I'm just your average car lover that happened upon this great opportunity to wheel one of the fastest production Mustangs ever made! Chevy, Mopar or Ford guys should appreciate this car...750 horsepower in a production street car is flat-out cool. Unfortunately my lack of skills don't do this car justice on the road...but this video will give you a taste of the immense power, ferocious sounds and sexy yet menacing looks of this American muscle car.
