Design of the new VDL Futura by Van der Veer Designers
To implement an entirely new business strategy for VDL Bus & Coach, Van der
Veer Designers designed a new generation of coaches: the VDL Futura.
The bus has a professional and modern appearance, devoid of excess. The
emphasis lies mainly on the aerodynamic front with the large VDL logo and
the arrow-shaped headlights. The horizontal lines clearly divide the sides
of the body surfaces in functional sections; passenger compartment, luggage
compartments, and engine compartment. Special attention is paid to the
commanding rear with a characteristic shape that causes lower pressure at
the rear; form follows function.

In this video, in order of appearance...
The first coach is a late model of Mercedes-Benz Travego, Supra service:
confortable and luxury big seats in black skin with extensible "leg-rest",
extensible and collapsible tables in the rear of the seats, WiFi
connection, 2-point seatbelts, TV-DVD and radio-CD with controls in all
seats, kitchen, food&drink service (in Supra+), ABS, ASR, EBS, ESP, and
Front Collision Guard in a brand new coach. Very big luggage compartment
and a very very solid, durable and reliable coach. The most european safer
passenger vehicle, the confort of the Mercedes-Benz Travego Supra is very
greater. One of the most beautiful coaches in the world, you can see!!!
The second coach, is a Setra S417HDH, a luxury coach, one of the best
vehicles in the world. Monocoque construction, without chassis: the
suspension and axles are independent and ZF RAS in the rear axle with
commanded steering. Only a engine (Mercedes-Benz with 476 Bhp) incorporated
at last time of fabrication. This extremely confortable coach is eqquiped
with very confortable (especially for national & international routes)
reclinable seat in green and grey upholstery (Alsa coaches), extensible
footrest, 2-point seatbelts, TV-DVD, radio-CD with controls in all seats,
and safety equipment includes ABS, ESP, ASR, EBS, and off course, in a
brand new coaches, Front Collision Guard. The european Setra S417HDH. 14,05
meters long, 3,86 meters tall. The luggage compartment is very impressive,
the biggest in this class of coaches with greater difference. The most
solid, confortable coach, a best-seller in Europe, with it´s brothers the
two-axle S411HD, S415HD, an three-axle S415HDH, S416HDH and the most

This luxury coach is an old model. The new model is pretty simillar, but
includes a safety advantage: a Front Collision Guard. The lenght of the
coach is 20 cm longer.
The third vehicle, is a citybus, a Volvo B10L. The engine is a DH10245,
with 245 Bhp. The body is a product of Sunsundegui, the CityStylo, in a
version with three double doors. Equiped with a Fainsa Arianne seats, air
conditioning, independent-neumatic suspension, this reliable new-style
citybus with high manouvreability and solid construction (includes a
reinforced frontal structure) working in a city route... with only 4 miles,
30 minutes for this, one of the best companies for working in the country.
This citybus is an old model. The new model is a Sunsundegui AstralVia.
And, the fourth vehicle, is a citybus. The body is a Hispano VOV, equipped
with a Mercedes-Benz 0405 chassis, whith +260 Bhp. This very very famous
citybus (you can see this body working for companies in all of the country)
is a new-style 3-door citybus, equiped with a VogelSitze System 650 seats
with blue upholstery, but is a very basic level, incredibly, this citybus
not including air conditioned. The last buses of this company includes A/C,
¡¡so good!!, the summers here in the north... very very hot, hahahahaha.
This citybus is an old model. The new model is the Hispano Habit.

All of european vehicles builted with a reinforced frontal structure,
reinforced structures with a very strong roof pillars (R.66), and the
coaches includes 2-point seatbelts in all places (3-point seatbelt is an
option), reinforced seat anchorages, reinforced seat structures...
Very safest coaches, the danger of serious injury or death is minimal.
