Ducati 1199s Panigale & CBR600RR Lowside On The Snake | Johnny5sWorld
On a cold Sunday there were 4 lowsides that I knew of, this is the video for two. Sorry for the shaky footage (more details below) CBR600RR - Q2 Tires, track bodywork ziptied together. Rider was on cold tires moments before lowside. Pressures were also too high for the weather. No injury to rider, just cosmetic damage to the bike. Ducati Panigale - 1199s was a rental from racyrentals.com, rider was from out of town and only had two days on the bike. bike was damaged heavily from frame, forks, wheels & bodywork. Rider only had minor bruises and road rash to right forearm. Bike carried full coverage from rental so a $2500.00 vehicle waiver will be charged for the damage. Compilation of street Riders for the month of June 2014, Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles Some bikes featured Ducati Superleggera Panigale, Triumph Daytona, Yamaha R1, Crossplane R1, 2009 ZX10R, BMW GS800, 1920s Harley Davidson, GSXR 1000, Ducati 996 Yamaha 2 stroke Google Street View - http://goo.gl/wsMi Mulholland Hwy has been a top destination for riders in Southern California for many years. The Snake section is a little over two miles long. The turns are tight, limiting speed and injuries in the event of a crash. And there are many crashes but also great riding. The road is public but considered a recreational use area. All rules of the road apply but motorcycle and auto enthusiasts are part of the tradition of the area. At the top of the Snake there is a park maintained overlook. The sign says: "You are standing at the top of curves that road enthusiasts affectionately call "The Snake". Over the years Mulholland Highway has tested the merits of cars from Duesenbergs to Teslas. This particular stretch of road is a mecca for motorcyclists. It's sharp turns offer an adrenaline rush and a chance for fun, fame and often folly. To your left is "Edwards Corner". It was named after the late Ed Savko, long-time owner of the Rock Store., a popular road house just down the hill. Hundreds of riders have crashed on this challenging 180- degree curve, perhaps showing off for spectators, who often gather here. Other succumb safely to the charm of "The Snake." " Important Note Regarding Spectators: Recently the road has been posted "No Stopping." There are five 1 hour spaces at the overlook that fill up quickly.
