Lamborghini Sesto Elemento £2.3m Hypercar - First time in London
The day the Shmee150 Facebook page reached a giant 20,000 fans
(http://www.facebook.com/shmee150) just so happened to coincide with the
arrival of a rather special car in London, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
The Sesto Elemento (or 6th Element) was introduced at the 2010 Paris
Motorshow as a track going weapon weighing in at just 999kg. It's thought
that a total of 20 could be built with a price tag in the €2 million
The car arrived here where it will be on show in the Lamborghini London
dealership in South Kensington, London however it's behind closed doors to
the public so it was fantastic to not only see the car again in person but
A lot of questions have been asked as to why the car is not started, the
explanation is that it had just arrived at London Heathrow from Saudi
Arabia. For transit, vehicles must be emptied of fuel and therefore on
arrival it would need to be connected to a race pump to re-fuel and there
was no time/access to one available, hence the engine could not be run
sadly for me filming this!
A lot of elements of the Sesto Elemento helped in the development of the
new £3.1m Veneno.

With this awesome Mach 1, you won't even give the word "original" a second
With a solid fastback body that's been completely massaged and reworked,
this Mustang is the kind of
car that would turn heads in primer; and what better way to ensure sore
neck muscles than covering it in sinister Raven Black paint? That paint
coats fit and finish that puts factory-original cars to shame. That fit and
finish is augmented by a slick combination of satin surfaces and reflective
decals which recreate traditional Mach 1 markings. And to ensure this pony
stands out from the herd, everything was buffed to a show-stopping shine!
Hoist this coupe's snug fitting hood and you'll find a fully detailed 408
cubic inch Ford V8 that was professionally assembled by Allied Motors of
St. Charles, Missouri. Straight from the bench this balanced block utilizes
a Clevite mains, ARP bolts, I-beam connecting rods and a custom cam to
create a killer 475 horsepower and unmatched
throttle response. At the top of the Ford Blue mill, air flows through a
polished a blue-detailed cleaner that's perched above a coated Holley
carburetor and a series of fresh stainless fuel lines. A resulting air/fuel
mixture makes its way from an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake to Edelbrock
Victor Jr. heads that hide custom pushrods and high quality roller rockers
under a slick pair of Ford Racing valve covers. When those heads flood the
engine's cylinder banks, a traditional points distributor sequences fire
through loomed Accel Hi Temp Super Stock wires while spent gases are
jettisoned through coated, shorty headers. The big engine's cooling is
provided by a factory radiator that's fitted with reproduction Autolite
hoses and era-correct screw clamps. And charging comes courtesy of a tagged
Autolite Sta-Ful that's wired to a bright Autolite voltage regulator.
Behind the snarling 408, a Lentech AOD 4-speed, which wears a polished Ford
Racing pan, sends power to a correct rear end that's equipped with big 3.70
gears and Moser 31-spline axles. The car's suspension remains in its
original configuration with the exception of big block towers up front and
staggered shocks out back. While Mustangs were far from heavy, this
coupe's steering effort is even lighter thanks to factory power assist.
Braking is equally good with power front disc and rear drums brining
momentum to a hurried halt. And at the corners of the floor, snazzy 'styled
steel' wheels spin 245/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/60R15
BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
Inside this Ford, a comfortable black interior should make any Mustang fan feel right at home. From
the captain's chair, a familiar Mustang dash features plenty of black
vinyl and tasteful wood applique. A nice set of factory gauges keep tabs on
fuel level, speed, revs and temperature while a Rim Blow steering wheel
connects the driver to the road. And in the center of the cockpit, a
correct AM/FM radio hangs over an original-looking console that frames an
ornate chrome shifter behind Ford Racing accessory gauges.
