74 Chevy Nova Update 2 - Some progress
Heres an update on the various things I did to the Nova.

74 Chevy Nova Update 7 - Block sanding Hi build Primer
I did the first block sanding of the Hi Build primer. Heres the results. This shows all the highs and lows in the body work. All imperfections are block sanded down leaving a flatter surface. I also show the blocks I used.

74 Chevy Nova Update 18- Painting Deck Lid and Moldings plus Fender Update
Here I paint the deck lid and the rear window moldings of the Nova. I also did the first block sanding of the fenders and another Epoxy primer coating in prep for blocking #2.

74 Chevy Nova Update 0 - First Startup
Car was left for dead but in great shape. Was for sale not running AS IS. Fiddled with it a bit and this is the outcome. Body has low mileage! (I took off body panels for easy access to everything.) Engine is a V8 7.4L 454 Big Block. Link to the Reborn Startup at the end.

74 Chevy Nova Update 35 - Rear Filler Panel 1 Modification
Part 1 To the work I am doing to remedy the rear filler panel nightmare that plagues the 73-74 Nova's.

74 Chevy Nova Update 4 - Bare metal
I took it down to bare metal. Took 2 weeks to get it bare. Used Metal to metal Body filler to do the body work. Ready for Epoxy primer.

74 Chevy Nova Update 20 - Big Block 454 V8 Engine Installed
I installed the 454 Engine and transmission and give a tour of what I did and show and explain the look I'm going for.

74 Chevy Nova Update 26 - Engine Detail maintenace - Filler panel plans
I answer a question that was asked about Engine detail maintenace. I also show some plans I have to remedy the rear filler panel situation that 73-74 Novas are plagued with.

74 Chevy Nova Update 37 - Rear Filler Panel 3 Progress and Jamb Painting
Part 3 Attached the aluminum strips to the filler panel and Jamb painted the rear since when bumper is installed, it will no longer be accessible. I also show the paint process and a small demonstation on how flexible the clear is.

74 Chevy Nova Update 17 - Jamb painting front end parts
Heres some more jamb painting. I painted the inner fenders and the radiator support. I also started on the fenders and show the side marker delete I did to match the quarter panels.

74 Chevy Nova Update 21 - Fender and Cowl panel Jamb painting
I block sanded the fenders three times before it was to my liking. Than I painted the jambs. I also sanded down to bare metal the cowl panel and painted it as well.

74 Chevy Nova Update 27 - Stripping Paint
I talk about the methods I used to strip the Nova down to bare metal. I felt the old lacquer paint from 1974 was not a good base for todays Urethane BC/CC paints.

74 Chevy Nova Update 23 - Body Panels and Power Brakes Installed
Installed all the panels I jamb painted and converted my manual 4 wheel drum brakes to Power 4 wheel disk brakes. Towards the end I show the gaps of the panels. The brake conversion kit used was Right Stuff Detailing. Rate and subscribe. Thank you.

74 Chevy Nova Update 15 - Jamb painting
Finally some COLOR! I show the jamb painting from masking to complete. Velocity Red Mica is the color and its Urethane Base with Clear Coat. Red Oxide Sealer was used as well to help with overage.

74 Chevy Nova Update Series A picture diary of the 2.5+ years in the Reborn project build. I did everything myself in my garage and I painted the car myself in a spray booth.
