1970 SS396 Chevelle drag strip run: 13.09
Here's a run in my friend Bob's hot SS396. This was a low 13 second run,
it's run many mid 12's too with open headers so it must have been my extra
weight and a closed Exhaust that
slowed him down a little! Comments welcome.
Nebraska Street Racing Gang
Some of the street gang from wdlatzel. These cars are driven on the street,
the reason for the trailers is we`re 100 miles apart.
Flying "the pattern" at Scribner Air Base
Every time I fly at Scribner I think about the thousands of young men who
flew B17 bombers on training flights out of that airfield. There is still
evidence of the interesting camo job that was done during WWII in the
cracks between concrete slabs on the runway. At one point the entire
field was covered in a mix of tar and ground corn cobs. This made a
pretty good match for the surrounding fields. Old timers talk about the
runway being painted twice a year during WWII to make it better match
surrounding fields when viewed from teh air. Really a place with the
spirits of so many young folks that went on to fly in battle far from home.
You will notice right away in this video that the vibration that was so
bad in several other recordings is almost gone. I fixed a chip in my prop
and that helped rebalance the propeller smoothing out the vibration

IHRA MODIFIED ELIMINATOR, BRAINERD OPTIMIST DRAG STRIP, MID 80'S
This video was shot at an IHRA points race held at Brainerd Optimist Drag
Strip in North Georgia, just South of Chattanooga, Tennessee. I think it
was 1986 or 87. A building was blocking the view down track but there's
some good starting line footage with some excellent sound. This should get
your heart pumping.
