The Basic Parts of an Automatic Transmission (Part 1)
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ This is part one of my front wheel drive (FWD) automatic transmission dissection video. In this video I cover the operation of clutches, bands, accumulators, clutch drums, the oil pump, the valve body, valves, check balls, seals and 'o' rings, as well as the construction and function of many of the internal hard parts of an automatic transmission. To be honest a rear wheel drive transmission isn't much different as many of the basic components are the same. I guess what I'm saying is that you could use the information in this video to have a basic understanding of a rear wheel drive automatic transmission also. It is just a basic overview of the main components. I don't get into theory and operation so much. Just the general operation and identification of the parts. I may make more videos on this topic based on the comments I get so feel free to ask questions and perhaps I'll answer them in a future video on this topic. There will also be a separate video on the parts and operation of the torque converter as well. When that is posted I'll post links below to that video. Camaro SS vs Turbo Civic
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING! THANKS! ▼Click "Show More"▼ This video was shot early on in 2008. Yes, he's a friend of mine. The acting (if you can call it that) is us just messing around before battery on the camera died. It was all done on the spot - no script - and the racing was both cars going all out 100%. The Camaro has been 11.5's@122. Not the fastest car on the road (by far), but enough to hold it's own with most local cars. For those in complete & utter denial - doubting that the Civic was actually turbo'd - here is the same car with a duck call attached to the blow-off valve as a joke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykRIp2GtYoA Enjoy!! =)

The Transformation of My 2007 Civic Si FA5
UPDATE: There have been new plans in the works for the car since the making of this video. It will be significantly quicker! Video I edited showing each step my car went through since the day i bought it. My original goal buying the car was to have a quick reliable daily driver. My goal was to get it in the 13's doing nothing more than simple bolt on's, stock motor, no forced induction. There are still quite a bit of mods not shown in the video, but listed at the end. I DO NOT OWN RIGHTS TO THE MUSIC: 1) Where I Can't Follow (Butch Clancy Remix) - Amy Kuney 2) Eyes on Fire - Blue Foundation (Zeds dead Remix) 3) Everyday(Netsky Remix)- Rusko NAUSTINE Productions, Hope you enjoy the video and SUBSCRIBE!
