Der Chevrolet Impala ist schnell, stark und wendig. Bis 1965 war er das meist verkaufte Oberklasse Auto der USA und einer der teuersten PKW überhaupt. Das Model das Aaron und Richard ausgesucht haben verfügt über einen Small Block Chevy-Motor und ist auch sonst in recht gutem Zustand. Trotz allem soll er einen neuen Anstrich und eine neue Innenausstattung bekommen. Auch Airride soll verbaut werden. Zum Schluss bekommt der Klassiker noch neue Reifen und einen schönen Lack.
Fred comes to life
Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman start "Fred" for the first time, ON TIME, on November 2nd, 2012. Fred was the chopper that Gas Monkey Garage built for the "Chopper Live: The Revenge" program. It took second place among the 4 entries. Some background on Fred: Aaron at GMG called Dale at Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley, NC, trying to locate a specific bike. Dale referred Aaron to Biker Rags in Knoxville, TN, where Fred was "living." GMG bought Fred from Biker Rags and chopped Fred for the build-off. You should visit both Wheels Through Time and Biker Rags if you're ever in that neck of the woods. RC Build SC 1/5 scale truck build update
A few things im testing here. First is the truck. It has components that are made of Derlin. 5/16 plates and 3/16 rods for the cage. At this point the cage is only partly done. Its a little top heavy and kind of bouncy. HPI hellfire shocks with 60wt oil and red springs to boot. The second test is for the Caslte Creations Mamba XL 2. The large scale ESC. Its been sitting around waiting for the Rampage but i got to get out and run something. I have been asking around to see if the large scale esc will run a 1/8 scale brushless motor like the NEU 1515 1y, but havent seen anything. Not even response. Maybe its a bad idea but i think i might be the first to run this combination. I can tell you now that everything ran fine. And i can also tell you that it runs better with the MMM. Never hit the full speed.

1962 F100 Unibody 223 swap to V8 292 Y block
I swapped out the original 223 for a 292 Y block also an option in 1962. I ran into problems with the front motor mount but Tom at Flashback F100s in North Carolina helped me out with that- Great place for F100 parts http://flashbackf100s.com.
