2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 Test - 4x4TV Test Videos
2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 Test - 4x4TV Test Videos SEE ALL OUR OVER 150 OTHER VIDEOS @ http://www.4x4TV.TV CONTACT ME - DougMeyer@4x4TV.TV Welcome to 4x4TV SEE ALL OUR OTHER VIDEOS @ http://www.4x4TV.TV CONTACT ME with questions at DougMeyer@4x4TV.TV http://www.4x4TV.TV first aired in 2001 with coverage of the beginning events in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championships. We still have lots of that classic footage that we will be putting up just to bring a tear to your eyes for the good old days. http://www.4x4TV.TV tested many factory four wheel drive vehicles during our early days and you can see the tests we did all categorized on our website. http://www.4x4TV.TV projected several amazing vehicles including Elsie, our beloved FJ60 that was my family cruiser and remains in the shop to this day - and until the day they plant me in the ground. We also restored and period projected a very nice FJ40 that ended up in the hands of a friend, "Bottle-a-day Dave." Anyone ever run across Dave Yarington (a rabid cruiser enthusiast - okay 'nut') please have him contact me. We also projected a great old Cherokee named Scofield (named after my friend who bought it new and explored many backroads in it). That Cherokee also still remains in my family, now driven by my son-in-law and most likely soon to be my Grandson's daily driver. Proof that good machines never die. http://www.4x4TV.TV also went on some incredible adventures, certainly our favorite thing to do. We traveled a lot of cool trails around southern California as well as the infamous (in the ATV world!) Piute Trail area and of course Moab. What we love most are the scenic trails! You can find them all listed on our website as well. http://www.4x4TV.TV had a few trail tips (which I hope to do more of), abad product reviews on both items for your rig as well as to make your trail experience better. Hope to see you out on the trail.

Crash Test 2002 - 2005 Ford Explorer / Mercury Mountaineer / Lincoln Aviator IIHS Frontal Impact
Ford Explorer 2002-05 models mfg. after Oct. 2001 results also apply to: 2003-05 Lincoln Aviator | 2002-05 Mercury Mountaineer (mfg. after Oct. 2001) FRONTAL OFFSET TEST OVERALL EVALUATION: Good Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right Good Good Good Good Acceptable Good Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight. Test details: The Ford Explorer 4-door (except the Sport Trac model) and the Mercury Mountaineer were redesigned for the 2002 model year. Explorers and Mountaineers manufactured after October 2001 include structural changes to improve occupant protection in frontal offset crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has evaluated the crashworthiness of a 2002 Explorer with the structural changes in a 40 mph frontal offset crash test into a deformable barrier. The Explorer and Mountaineer have been re-engineered for the 2006 model year, and the Aviator has been dropped. Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the roof rail, window frame, and B-pillar. Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia indicate that injuries to the lower leg would be possible. Head accelerations from the roof rail, window frame, and B-pillar hits were negligible.

Competitors: Toyota 4Runner, Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder Trims: XLS, XLT, Eddie Bauer, Limited What I have to say about the 2002 Ford Explorer: New notable changed for the Explorer includes a redesigned exterior and interior. Trims range from the base XLS, to the mid level XLT, to the Luxurious Eddie Bauer and Limited. The Explorer also now features more luxury appointments for 2002 as well as good rugged off road looks. Material quality is somewhat good. but not the best. Low resale value is also a major turn off for this SUV. All in all great SUV from Ford, hopefully it can take on the competition from the Japanese brands. Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camerons-Car-Reviews/349462695066112?ref=hl

2016 Land Rover Discovery Vs 2016 Ford Explorer - Pro Design!
Volvo XC60. Subaru Outback. GMC Terrain. Denali. 2015 GMC Terrain. 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport. 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport vs. Its Competition Not many of the Discovery Sport's intended competitors will offer a third-row seat. It's an advantage--a small one, but still an advantage over vehicles like the Volvo XC60, which in a former life was kith and kin to the Land Rover LR2, when both were Ford brands. The new Subaru Outback's a lovely, composed wagon with lots of ground clearance and space, but nothing like the off-road credibility of the Land Rover name. The GMC Terrain has bullnose styling and four-cylinder frugality to throw in the mix--not to mention the luxe Denali models. The Mercedes GLK twins classic SUV lines with a snug interior and moderate off-road ability. It's possible the vehicle that lines up most neatly against the Discovery Sport is the Ford Explorer, which comes in a seven-passenger model, focuses equal energy on tech and image, and can be priced well into the $50,000 stratosphere.
