This item is a brand new high performance valve spring kit. The kit contains 16 high performance .550 lift valve springs, 16 hardened steel spring retainers and 32 hardened 7° valve locks made by Elgin Industries.
It fits small block Chevy V8 engines with cast iron cylinder heads. Will not work on the Vortec L31 head which would require machining of the guide boss OD to work.
The springs are designed for hydraulic & solid lifter cams up to a maximum of .550" camshaft lift. Great spring for towing cams, mild street performance and the IMCA claimer style dirt track racing engines.
This kit contains enough parts to upgrade the springs two stock cylinder heads except for the valve seals. Excellent way to upgrade your old Chevy cylinder heads with new parts and save YOU money! Great value for a kit designed for RV and mild performance street cams.
