If you have an oil leak near your valve covers you will need new gaskets and they are very important to change. Once the oil leak becomes a problem it will build up making your engine a mess along with spitting oil onto your exhaust manifolds which is a common cause for engine fires.
GM has raised their prices on them continuously. Why because the GM OEM gaskets need to be replaced quite often because the OEM material is garbage. They harden and cause oil leaks which causes fires. This is a known problem that GM has recalled twice, but cannot remedy the problem.
