Here are fourused 15 x 5.5 inch chrome-plated steel wheels for an early Porsche 356 or VWwith the wide 5 bolt pattern, 5 x 205 mm. They were made by Mangels in Brazil. Allare round and true, with no curb rash, and all but one of the hub cap clips areintact. Three are date-stamped 05/01 and one is dated 1/97.
As is, thesewheels would be a nice addition to many daily drivers. They’re bright and shinyand look good from a few feet away. Even the backsides are clean. However, theMangels chrome is thin, so each wheel has some light pitting and/or a grainylook to the finish on a portion of the rim. There’s a close-up of the worstone. The best one has only a few light pits, and the others are in between. Thismight be just the patina you’re looking for, but to be perfect they need to be strippedand rechromed or painted.
