Seriously!!This is a VERY hard-to-find VW Beetle am/fm/CD radio. It does nothave the Satellite button, so it is not satellite capable. It is not compatible with the Monsoon system, but we have the Monsoon version listed in a different ad. This does play standard audio format CDs and CDRs, as well as MP3 format CDRs.
It is manufactured for Volkswagen by Delco. It is Delco part number 12244714 or 28007239. It is VW part number 1C0035196T. They had various versions of this radio, depending on the options your vehicle had. If your part number is different or has adifferent letter at the end (other than T), there is probably somethingdifferent about it. It may not be a major difference but it is a difference. Either way, you risk it not working for you. Please confirm this is the one you need by matching it to your radio or asking your VW dealer.There is a factory serial number and code sticker sheet attached to the radio. Code entry procedures appear below. You may have to enlist the help of your VW dealer if you misplace it or have problems.There is a 30 day defective exchange warranty. Buying the wrong part number and finding there are differences is not a defect. Please file your return request with an accurate reason should you find yourself in this situation.

** The early 2004 Beetles had a different wiring configuration and this does not work in them. If you have a 2004, the last 6 digits of your VIN must be 410661 or higher in order for it to be compatible in your vehicle. Your part number must also match. Returns are not accepted so heed our warning.This radio is in very nice condition. It is new.The face has a weird texture to it that scratches very easily and they have been handled a few times. As a result, these may have very minor blemishes on them. But they are new and have never been used. Please do NOT follow instructions you find elsewhere. Some VW radios (especially older ones) use a different procedure that will cause your radio to lock temporarily, if used.
Locate the 4-digit security code for your radio. (New or remanufactured VW radios purchased from ReplacementRadios often include the code on a sticker affixed to the top of the radio.) If you don\'t have it, you will need to obtain it from a VW dealer. They can look it up if you provide your VIN and the serial number from the radio. (It looks kind of like VIN too.) Some dealers charge for this service, while others do not.
After you install your radio and reconnect the battery, your radio will display SAFE momentarily, then it will usually change to display the number 1000. Once you see this, follow the procedures below:
- Repeatedly press and release preset 1 until the first digit of the code appears
- Repeatedly press and release preset 2until the second digit of the code appears
- Repeatedly press and release preset 3until the third digit of the code appears
- Repeatedly press and release preset 4 until the fourth digit of the code appears
- Pressand holdthe \'Up\' (Fwd) Seek/Scan button forat least2 seconds
