Sonnax Small Pinless Accumulator Piston Kit.
Fits 4L60E & 4L65E Transmissions found in VR-VE Commodores.
The 4L60E uses 1 of these pistons in the Forward Accumulator Housing Located in the valve body.
This piston kit includes Orings and balls to block pin holes it also includes instructions from sonnax.
OUR OPINION OF THIS ITEM:
The TH700 series transmissions are common to have poor shift quality, burned bands or clutches due to accumulator piston wear. Repeated reciprocation of the accumulator piston causes wear at the piston pin bore interface. After this wear reaches a critical point, fluid loss through the piston pin bore cannot be compensated due to lack of pump volume. In addition, the piston can get cocked and gall the accumulator bore due to the pin bore wear or the spring bottoming out.This accumulator piston has eliminated the pin and has a larger side wall for better support which means no more worn out pistons.
