Repair common shifter cable failure on Saab 9-3, 9-5. Custom made brass alloy bushing replaces the plastic bushing that deteriorates causing the linkage to break. Also restores crisp shifter feel. Don\'t spend $600 at the dealer to replace the whole cable- this bushing presses onto the selector arm on the automatic transmission and has a clip to hold it in place. See pictures- kit includes one bushing and one clip. Selector arm not included- reuse yours. 100% permanent! Takes about 15 minutes, medium difficulty- not for inexperienced DIYers, requires drilling a 6mm (15/64 in) hole in the plastic socket joint, a dab of loctite, and a spot of white lithium grease. I replaced a cable on a 99 9-5 that had left a guy stranded in a parking lot. It took about 2 weeks for Saab to get it in stock. After getting the cable replaced I swore I\'d never do that again and came up with this solution. I had 20 pieces made in October of 2012 thinking it would be a lifetime supply but ended up selling 12 on ebay, installing 4 myself and the rest to a Saab shop in Atlanta. I just had another 50 made! These kits work perfectly and the Saab pros (myself included) love them!
