This exhaust manifolds for the 1991-1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 and Dodge Stealth RT were designed to combine the exhaust gasses from each of the cylinders quickly with a manifold that was cost effective to produce. Our 3-1 Shorty Style off-road headers are designed to allow the exhaust gasses to flow more freely from each 3 cylinder bank and combine in a more efficient manner. Tubing has been optimized for the 3.0L turbocharged V6 engines. This creates a reduction in cylinder backpressure and improved exhaust gas velocity. These improvements free up lost horsepower and torque. An added benefit is a more performance oriented exhaust sound.The most restrictive part of any exhaust system is the catalytic converter. The stock catalytic converter is meant to filter the flow of exhaust gases to reduce the amount of harmful gases into the atmosphere. Because of this, lots of potential performance is restrained. Down Pipes eliminate the stock catalytic converter and reduce exhaust backpressure. By maximizing exhaust flow, this downpipe allows the turbo to spool up and build boost quicker. The result brings out the vehicle’s performance potential by giving it a free high flowing exhaust system.
