*RADIATORS – First18 months manufacturers warranty only, after 18 months A.C.will offer LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY on radiators only.

*CONDENSERS – 12months manufacturers warranty only.

*COOLINGFANASSEMBLIES & ELECTRICAL PARTS– Manufacturers warranty only.

*FLUSHINGTHE SYSTEM –Radiator: Mustflush (drain and refill) your vehicle’s cooling system beforeinstalling thenew radiator. Failure to do this will void warranty. Distilled watermust beused to mix with your manufacturers recommended coolant. Evidence ofhard waterin the radiator will void warranty.

IMPORTANT

THEFOLLOWING CONDITIONS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY

BLOWNSEAMS– Are not covered bythe warranty.

PLUGGEDRADIATORS– Are not covered bythe warranty.

REPAIRS– Any repair oralterations to the radiator’s stability and/or durability.

STRIPPEDTHREADS– Stripped threads,engine cooler lines, transmission-oil cooler, drain cocks, ortemperatureconnection.

IMPROPERCOOLANT– Damage caused bythe use of coolant or coolant mixture other than that specified by thevehiclemanufacturer.

PHYSICALDAMAGE– Damage caused bycollision, accidents, abusive handling, and shipping subsequent.

PHYSICALOR CHEMICALPROPERTIES– Damage caused by the effects of physical or chemicalproperties of water,steam, and/or other liquids in the radiator.

EXTERNALCORROSION– Damage caused byexternal corrosion.

IMPROPERINSTALLATIONOR MAINTENANCE– Damage caused by obvious negligence, abuse, improperinstallation ormaintenance.

BLOWNTANKS– Blown tanks causedby over pressurization due to a faulty radiator cap or engine headgasket/exhaust leak or other leaks in the system. Intermittent fanproblemswill also cause blown seams.

ELECTROLYSISAFFECT ONTHE COOLANT SYSTEMS– The engine and the vehicle body are the main source ofground especially for the starter, alternator, computerized componentsandaccessories. Coolant circulates in the engine and the radiator isbolted to thevehicle’s body where the accessory like the lighting isgrounded. A poor groundto the engine or to the vehicle body occurs; current can easily flowthroughthe cooling system and start deteriorating the major componentsincluding theengine. Stray currents circulating in the cooling system will literallyremoveparticles of metal from the radiator, heater core, and the engine. Itwill alsochange some coolant byproducts into acids that will speed up thecorrosionprocess. The amount of metal removed from the components depends on theamountof current that flows in the system. The system must be checked for theproperPH level. The correct PH level for the coolant solution is between 7.7and 11.This level must be maintained at all times. Check the system forelectrolysis. Readingsof 0.10 volts orgreater are indicative of stray currents. This must be corrected beforecomponent replacement.

EXCESSIVEHEAT– Is the most commoncause of radiator failure. Radiators with plastic end tanks are veryvulnerableto steam erosion. If the coolant level is low and the engine starts torun hot,steam can erode and melt a hole right through an end tank. Whitedeposits onthe inside of the plastic are evidence that hot steam rather thancoolant wasflowing into the tank. If you find this kind of damage, check thethermostatand pressure test the system for leaks after the radiator has beenrepaired orreplaced.

EXTREMEPRESSURE– Splits in radiatorseams or between the tubes and header may be the result of too muchpressure inthe cooling system. This may be caused by using a pressure cap with thewrongrating (a 15 lb cap on a system that’s rated at 5 lbs), or byhead gasket leaksthat allow exhaust to enter the cooling system. Pressure testing thecoolingsystem will tell you if there are any internal coolant leaks, andpressuretesting the cap will tell you if it has the correct rating.

CONTAMINATEDCOOLANTS– To avoidcontamination of the cooling system use a mix of antifreeze and water(distilled water). This will prevent corrosion and premature systembreakdown.A 50/50 mix is the recommended mixture, which will give the system theoptimumcorrosion/temperature protection needed and prevent metal erosionduringcoolant circulation. Remember that premature wear of the cooling systemcomponents like water pumps, cylinder head gaskets are in directrelation withthe condition of the coolants and system cleanliness. Followmaintenanceschedules and be proactive in preventive service.
