NOTE: GENERALLY 160 DEGREE THERMOSTATS ARE CONSIDERED ALTERNATE OR LOW TEMP THERMOSTATS (for hot areas of the country/towing/older cars/etc.) WHERE THE THERMOSTAT IS REQUIRED TO OPEN AT 160 DEGREES. For later model OBD2 (1996 on up) vehicles check the owners manual to verify that this is the correct thermostat and won't set a check engine light.
