Topgear was founded in 1984 by as a small car accessory shop in Bridport. It was started on a Government backed enterprise allowance scheme of £40 per week. During the 1980s the company grew and opened depots in Yeovil and Weymouth which have since been sold. Topgear is now a nationwide company and employs over 40 people.
