This is a
USED set of exhaust pipes removed from a 1973 Opel 1900 4-Door sedan (known in Europe as the Opel Ascona 1900). The Ascona
is almost exactly like the MANTA mechanically, and shares exactly the same
frame, but with different body sheet metal skin.
Will these
pipes fit on the Manta with the 1900 engine? Maybe; the exhaust pipe
illustration in my 1973 Opel factory manual for the Manta and Ascona 1900 shows
them being the same, but I cannot prove it.
These pipes
have no cracks, holes, or soft spots, but have a lot of pock marks in the back
half of the pipes. These are used OEM pipes that have been in long-term indoor
storage.
The 6-bolt
flange to the exhaust manifold is good, but the pipe end beyond the “Y” will
need to be welded to whatever pipe you have beyond that.
The EGR
valve and tubing shown in photo are included in the same shipping box, but have
been unbolted so that they will not be damaged in shipping. The vacuum
diaphragm in the EGR valve does not leak, but I don’t know if the EGR valve
actually opens and closes when vacuum is applied. It looks like it needs to be
cleaned with carburetor solvent/cleaner. I only checked the EGR vacuum
diaphragm for leakage.
These items
are have been boxed up carefully, and are ready for prompt shipment. Most items

Security:
