RE-LISTED after resolving a dispute with a local (prospective) buyer. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion. Ford's high compression closed "quench" chamber 1970 351C 4V engines are quite hard to find - especially one that hasn't been through the rebuild mill. Though advertised by Ford as having a compression ratio of 11:1 it is known that actual compression ratio was approximately 10:1 (fortunate in light of today's pump gasoline). This one was taken out of long term storage last June for evaluation. Engine oil pan and valve covers were removed as part of the inspection process, and were cleaned and painted prior to reassembly. Results below: Engine interior was found to very clean with NO sludge evident, and rolled over easily. Component date codes are consistent with the era. It is STANDARD BORE, and crankshaft rod/main journals are STANDARD sized. Exhaust manifolds are in excellent condition. Starter, bell housing, release fork, flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate are present. We did note that a double-roller style timing set had been installed at some point.
Block: D0AE-J date code Heads: date codes 0A7 and Rods: Intake manifold: D0AE-L date code 0K16 (Holley 4bbl bolt Water pump: D0OE-D date code 0A8 On 1/30/13 the unit was fitted with a carburetor, ign coil, and mechanical oil pressure gauge so that it could be test run. Some of the photos show it running in this format. It started cleanly with no smoke, knock, or valve train noise evident. Idle quality was smooth and oil pressure was found to be 60-65psi. Please know that, while no deficiencies were noted during this session, it is not being represented as "good to go". Depending on your intended usage reconditioning may be necessary.
