This is a NOS FORD Motorcraft Chrome Twist On OIL Filler Cap. It is also the crankcase breather. Oil Filler Cap dimensions - 3 9/64\" Diameter, 1 7/8\" Tall, Fits a 1 5/32\" Minimum Valve Cover Opening.
Many different oil filler caps were used depending on engine, emissions, state, etc. This one replaces many styles as it uses the very common twist in design. Thru the years this cap has had slight changes to its shape, the quality of chrome and different stickers. As of late the cap\'s finish has gotten much nicer.
If you are looking just for the lowest price possible, I have some caps that the chrome has less shine. They sometimes come in this way and I do not bother to try to return them as defective, but instead just sell them as \'B\' grade for less money. Be careful with other sellers, as you may not get nice oil caps. Just search my store for oil cap to see what variants I may have at the time.
This cap is an open style, which allows the crankcase \'gases\' to vent thru the cap into the atmosphere. This style was being phased out in the 60\'s to the closed style where these fumes were vented into the carburetor thru the air cleaner. Please review the photo and your valve covers to determine compatibility.
