On vacation. When I return I will restore the inventory amounts, for now it will show zero.

This is anew(not rebuilt) hydroboost and mount set up to run inverted in a \'84-\'87 Turbo Regal/Grand National, T Type. ***Also available mounted right side up on request.***It will replace the Powermaster and firewall mounting bracket as a direct bolt in on Powermaster equipped vehicles and replaces the OEM hydroboost on earlier vehicles. This fits the \'81 Regal (Diesel)/El Dorado master cylinder. No modification to your firewall is required. This is a direct bolt in application. Four bolts to the firewall, attach the rod end to the brake pedal and it\'s in.

If you have a vacuum brake Regal feel free to discuss with me if this will swap in without having to replace/modify your brake pedal.

Tech, info on building pressure hoses, and pictures of custom hydroboost installations as well as my contact info can be viewed on-line at CustomPowerBrake or BadAspBrakes.

Wondering how much better this works than your electric brake booster? I asked a customer with an \'87 GN who also supplied the installed pics of a unit I set up for him to run right side up so he could use the earlier hydroboost lines and this is what he had to say about:

“Yes, I foot brake this car and they hold the car with noproblems. This car leaves the line with the wheels off the ground and runs 5.90in the 1/8 mile and is putting out almost 900hp. It worked out fine… the bestbrakes this car ever had.”

****Allow me to dispel some myths...#1There simply are no vacuum boostersthat will give you the same dramatic increase in line pressure at the caliper that hydroboost will provide. #2 The largest vacuum booster you could possibly fit would only give you about 1,700 psi at the front caliper and that is if you had room to fit it and the engine produced the vacuum it was designed for. If you have a low vacuum motor and a 7\" dual diaphragm booster (like a customer of mine with a built 5.7 Hemi who tested line pressure with a gauge) you will only get 1,000 psi at the front and 800 at the rear calipers. You need about 1,600 psi up front for disc. After installing my hydroboost he tested it at what you can see in my last pic above. Got it? ;) Thats an increase of 1,400psi at the front caliper at idle. 2,400psi..... yes, your pedal will be lighter;) John\'s car is a \'37 Plymouth Tudor and he hauls a trailer for his two Harleys. His comment to me after the installation of the hydroboost was \"this thing could stop freight trains\". Thanks for the testing, pics and feedback John! It\'s what dispels myths. #3 Installing a hydroboost does not just make your pedal easier to press, ask anyone who has hydroboost installed. I have had a lot of customers tell me that swapping to hydroboost was the best modification they made to their vehicle and should have been the first. Think about it for a minute.... is it really going to help your braking if you switch from 11\" disc to 13\" and go from single piston calipers to four piston if you still are only going to have 1,000 psi at the front caliper when you need at least 1,600 psi? Yes, the braking would improve over what you had but you still don\'t have the line pressure and only changing the booster to hydroboost is going to give you 2,400 psi. To my knowledge, not even electric boosters will give you that much pressure and 2,600 psi is obtainable with the right master cylinder.

Installation of hydraulically boosted brake systems will increase your line pressure up to a maximum of 2,600psi (as tested and I have a gauge reading to demonstrate pressure at idle) depending on the master cylinder you select and the other components in your brake system. Consequently your brake system must be in top shape to handle increases from normal 1,100-1,600psi.

No pressure hoses or port fittings are provided with this hydroboost. The ports are 18mm pressure in from the pumpand 16mm pressure out to the steeringbox. ***Be sure the power steering pump you are using will be adequate to run with hydroboost which typically require 1,300-1,500psi and 2.5-3.5gpm. This hydroboost is not designed to be operated with power steering pumps exceeding 1,500psi.

If you have a different vehicle you\'d like to set up with a custom firewall mount just shoot me a message and I\'ll work with you if I think it can be done. Custom mounts in black painted steelare typically $53, basic firewall plates are $25, and 304 Stainless may be available. The bolt spacing for the master cylinder is 3.4\" and if you need a custom adapter to fit a 3.2\" spaced Dodge or Ford master cylinder. I can help you sort out what you need for your hot rod or built rock buggy using the largest dual piston calipers.
