My truck is pretty much a street truck with the most off road it sees is when I am plowing through inches of snow on my way to the ski resorts here in Utah. I moved from the Goodyear SRAs to the Michelin Premier LTX tires and could not believe the immediate difference in ride qualityand noise level. The tires seem to step over cracks in the road surface as if they aren\'t there. The tires seem to have low rolling resistance as I am able to take my foot off the gas and coast for a considerable distance when desired. To me they feel a little soft in the sidewall as sometimes on twisting mountain roads, I almost feel like I am going to push the tire right off the rim when driving fast on twisting roads. It could be a combination of the high center of gravity and never having pushed the truck this hard with the Goodyears. The tires have never broken traction or given me cause for concern and I have swerved pretty hard around cars in parking lots, so it may be more in my mind. My only regret is not putting these on my wife\'s Highlander... and she only reminds me occasionally!!I will try to update this review once I have driven them for a longer period. So far, these are the best tires I have ever purchased.
Review from July 27, 2016Rating: 9.14Gave the Premier LTX a try on a 2013 ML550 w/ Airmatic & Active Curve. Buyers of this tire should really consider application since most of us don\'t try multiple sets of tires back to back (I ended up trying3 before I found the right ones). Michelins seem to spin balance very well and rarely require a full road-force balance. The tire was whisper quiet, had great turn-in, stopped confidently, and was notably better during acceleration. The tread-wear characteristics were appealing to maintain traction on wet roads as the tire wears. This is a capable and high quality tire. However, paired with an air suspension this tire rides like a run-flat. I know this because I previously had run-flats on this SUV. The Premier LTX is a very firm riding tire andtransmits too much impact harshness from pavement cracking, expansion joints, and small bumps in the road. The tread pattern also noticeably tram-lines on grooved pavement; the whole vehicle shifted on grooves in ways I haven\'t felt before. The Premier LTX felt like a truck tire and not really appropriate for an SUV geared toward comfort. The ride quality was a deal breaker for me - I took thesetires off after 750 miles in exchange for a tire much closer to OE spec to restore the ride quality I expect. Your mileage will vary, but I suspect my observations may not really apply to a traditional coil-spring suspension.
Review from July 26, 2016Rating: 10Mounted these on my 2008 Infiniti FX35 AWDa couple weeks back now and am genuinely surprised by the difference in ride. I\'m a nail magnet and have lost 7 tires in 8 years. I\'ve gone through several brands and most recently had Hankooks. I thought those were good tires until I usedthese Michelin\'s. The ride now is 100% smoother with better grip and I feel like someone put a silencer under my car. Nothing but good things to say. They\'re driving in CA weather so it\'s unlikely they\'ll be tested in snow, let alone rain,but they\'ve made me feel like I\'ve got a brand new car for the summer.
