After 61,000 miles on the Energy Savers, would consistently average 35-36 mpg on my commute to work; 90 miles one way. After giving these tires the nearly full 30 day Michelin ride guarantee, had to to backto Energy Savers. With my typical driving, I struggled to obtain 32 mpg, even with nitrogen filled. The second set of Energy Savers were filled with nitrogenas well, and I have had a best round trip of 38.4 mpg.The ride quality and road noise were definitely improved vs the Energy Savers. However, due to amount of mileage racked up for work, the extra mpg's are necessary for me.
Review from September 14, 2015Rating: 8.86Got the tires end of winter in MA. I have only 7500 miles on them. They are much much netter than OEM tires came with the car. They are not as soft, but they hold the road better. Did not drive during snow, so no info about snow. I would recommend this tires, however, mpg of thecar dropped a little, may be 2-4 mpg per mile. Highway driving I used to get over 550 miles per tank, now close to 480-490.
Review from September 6, 2015Rating: 10These tires replaced Hankook Roadmaster tires (Sears). The trade off is fuel mileage. The Michelins perform well and are quiet and comfortable, but the two to three miles per gallon drop reported elsewhere is accurate. The Hankook tire is a LRR (low rolling resistance) tire which gives better mpg but as the tire wears, traction diminishes to the point where I replaced them at 4/32 after hydroplaning on a wet road. Hankook Roadmaster is a 100,000 tire, but mine lasted just over 50K. Get a mileage adjustment you ask? Wrong! Each tire must be at the wear bars or below all the way around the tire to qualify for an adjustment. This represents an unsafe and potentially traffic ticket laden practice so I opted for new and safer tires. Even though I drive a thousand miles a week, the fuel difference amounts to only 3-5 dollars, a reasonable price for peace of mind.
