Important: This will only work with Euro headlights which has the built in level mechanism reflector and a vacuum plug nipple outside. This will not work with the regular US DOT headlights found in almost all W140\'s sold in the USA.
Mercedes W140 S600, S500, S420, S320 Euro Headlight Level Switch Kit. This kit was put together and sold by Vlad, at fourbyfourclub for $180.00. He is still around and sells mostly G Class parts.
Please read:In the first picture you can see the Euro level adjuster dial with 0,1,2,3 on the right of the headlight switch. Picture 2 shows the original USA bezel from a 1995 S500 with no level adjuster.
This system runs by vacuum. Basically you remove the original US headlight switch bezel and replace it with the Euro bezel. The right headlight is connected to the left with a vacuum tube and Y connectors. Another vacuum tube is connected to the vacuum switch (source for the vacuum needed) under the hood. Both vacuum tubes are then run through the firewall into the rear of the Euro bezel. Behind the dial there are 2 slots to insert the tubes. Once you turn the headlights on the vacuum runs through the dial into the headlight and by moving the dial you can make the headlights go up and down.
The most difficult part in the install process is getting the tubes through the firewall. That is where I spent most of my time unless you know the exact spot. Vlad had also provided installation instruction with pictures and it does help a bit.
I am going to provide the Euro bezel (most important), copy of Vlad\'s instructions (important) and the Y connectors and as much of the vacuum tube that I can. This is just regular vacuum tube you can buy at the auto parts store. I will cut the tube that runs through the firewall. Another issue I had is Vlad did not provided enough tube and it became a little tight.
I am going to provide more pictures and please ask questions prior to bidding. I cannot use it anymore because the adjustment lever in my right headlight is either broken or out of place so it does not move anymore.
