The covers are made from fiberglass, which is stronger, lighter and more durable than the original one. The fiberglass can flex a little if pushed with great power, so if you hit something with this cover on it may flex and return ot its original shape, while the original one will leave a dent. These covers are made from 5 layers of fiberglass - the boats are made from 4-5 layers, so this is as strong as a boat. The back includes the pipe which is made to be attached to the cover with 3 screws for easier mounting and secure shipping. It\'s all from stainless steel, so you don\'t have to worry about it.
