These don't feel worn without load unless worn to the point where they're ready to fall apart. To test, one can remove the belt and start the car without it and listen for the noise. If no longer present, it's the supercharger. There are other bearings behind the snout that wear as well. The difference in the noise can usually be picked-up. If the front or rear rotor pack bearings are worn, you typically get metallic clanking or grinding noises. This noise is the rotors contacting each other and/or the inside of the housing. If you can get close enough to the supercharger with a mechanics stethoscope or long screwdriver, you should notice it closer to the center of the supercharger. If it's the snout, you'll hear the noise/vibration from the snout. The Bearings:These are premium ABEC3 C3 bearings. Most, if not all, kits that you will find are only ABEC1 or 0 precision quality. These bearings are manufactured with more precise tolerances, and are holding their specs longer than OEM, at higher RPM (rated 18-20,000rpm).The Seal:This is a quality double-lipNitrile/Buna-N seal.A Viton seal is available upon request for $10 additional. The Coupler:This coupler is CNC machined from a superior oil-impregnated polymer material that will not lose its shape over time like the OEM coupler. The OEM coupler's dowel pin holes tend to warp/slot, causing a clunking, and in some cases, failure. You can drive worry-free with this coupler. You may read claims from other competitors regarding superiority of their coupler designs. Experience trumps theory. We've physically been inside of/rebuilt/raced these superchargers for years, using this design of coupler. Extreme RPM/mileage testing has revealed no benefit of the OEM coupler's oil standoffs (only lower strength). The additional beef/material of this design makes it stronger than the claimed "superior" designs.During stress tests, the actual dowel pins failed/sheared before this coupler. It is guaranteed for the life of your vehicle! The Sealant:This anaerobic sealant/gasket maker is OEM specific for sealing these superchargers. Accept/apply no substitutes. Your every day parts store sealants are not made for sealing such surface finishes. The Oil:THIS IS NOT MOTOR OIL, which is what you often find in other kits. This full synthetic supercharger compound has the correct specs for these superchargers under their normal/OEM rated conditions, but oil analysis shows that it retains them for longer periods, and under more extreme conditions. It's the best performing and most versatile compound of all tested in Eaton superchargers thus far.8oz is enough oil to fill any Generation 1-5 Eaton-style supercharger (both 3 and 4 lobe Eaton, Magnuson, TRD, Jackson Racing, Stillen), most with a little to spare for future top-offs.Installed properly, under normal conditions, this selection of parts will outlast the rest of your supercharger, and likely the vehicle.
