READ THIS BEFORE BUYING LEDs to replace your factory bulbs.
The factory bulbs in these clusters are incandescenttype/ they\'re not LEDs --LEDs are a modification to these clusters. What the sellers ofLEDs for these clusters don\'t tell you, is LEDs are polarity dependent -meaning there\'s a positive and negative side. These circuit boardsaren\'t marked for positive and negative, nor are the LEDs marked. Youneed a power source and tester to get them right.
The factory-likeincandescent bulbs (like included in this kit) don\'t have a positive andnegative side, so there isn\'t the above complications involved ininstalling them.
Also,some of the LEDs being sold on ebay for these clusters, are notelectrically correct. If you understand the complications involved inswitching to LEDs and still want them, then use the ones with the external and separateresistors.
I can include blue bulb caps on request at no extra charge.They\'re molded blue sleeves that go over the bulbs to make the gauge backlighting glow a blue/green color. They use the incandescent bulbs, so are electricallycorrect, and there\'s no special procedure required to install them. Again,not everyone wants the blue gauges, so please ask (send me a message directly after buying kit) if you want me toinclude the blue bulb caps (no charge). Otherwise the kit will come with the bulbsw/o caps that keep the factory look.
Oursoldering irons are the correct tip temp (60w iron will ruin your board), which is very important inthe success of this repair. The solder wire is genuine Kester brand -thehighest quality available- and is what is used in most all professionalcircuit board work.
