I've had this shifter for many years and have decided to sell it. I believe it was in a 1968 Pontiac GTO but I would recomment that you study the pictures to see if it matches your needs. There were many Pontiac and Oldsmobile models that used the Hurst Dual Gate Shifters well into the 70's and there were minor differences in them, mostly mounting brackets. The internal parts were basically the same.
This shifter is in excellent condition. It shifts easily from park thru low gear and the cable is smooth and free. The boot on the transmission end of the cable could be replaced but that does not affect the smooth action of the cable. The black oxide factory finish is original and in great shape. There is some minor rust on the shifter slide plate and I don't think there is a spring on it but it slides freely and locks in place. The shift knob is original and in great shape. Also included is the original Neutral Starter Switch in good condition.
