This Item is a Harmonic balancer installation tool that is used to press the harmonic balancer back onto the crankshaft. This can be used on all LS series engines such as Corvette, Camaro, Trans Am, GTO. The heavy duty quality materials that I use for this installation tool are superior. Material specs are as follows: Nuts and washers are a Metric 10.9 (grade 8 SAE equivalent) and the M16x2 threaded shaft has a Rockwell hardness of C35 and tensil strength of 125000psi. These are superior engineering standards. With the quality of this tool you wont have to worry about breaking the threads off in the crank or leaving your threads from another tool or bolt inside the crank threads when they shear off. Using the original bolt to press the harmonic balancer back on is a really bad idea. Dont do it. When using the original bolt the stress is on only a few threads which can lead you to ruin your crankshaft threads. When using this tool you simply thread the tool into the crankshaft, slide the washers on, then turn the nut to press the harmonic balancer back on to the crankshaft. All of the stress is on all of the threads of the crankshaft instead of just a few. Remove tool and install and torque original bolt. This is a simple tool that you can use over and over again and works awesome.
