This is a brand new HID Kit in H4 - HID Hi and HID Lo.
Yes, thats twin beam HID. HID Low and HID High beams and in 55W and waterproof.
The specs are ..
- 55W - watch others - most are just 35W and that extra 20W makes my 55W another 60% brighter again
- 12 or 24V
- Colour 4300K or 6000K
These are our new AC F5 (F series) ballasts. They heat up in a few split seconds and their output is AC, not DC. This is softer Sine Wave delivery of power so the globes are not flickering (the eye can't see it) but it also means much longer globe life. Our HID globes with the F series ballasts are rated at 20,000 hours of operation - assume that's night driving at an average of 60 kph = 1,200,000 klm and that's just in the dark with the lights on. So they will easily outlive the car.
Also they are totally water proof. Here's proof. Not only did we submerse the globe in a fish bowl, but we tossed the ballast in their too. Take a look ...
The inside of the ballast is filled with a resin so if any water did manage to get in, it can't do any harm ..
The ballasts are slim die cast pollished alloy measuring just 9.5 cm long by 6.5 cm wide and 1.5 cm thick ..
H4 Globes are by far the most popular in dual high and low beams in cars, 4wds and trucks. If you have a light globe that does both hi and low beam, it is almost always H4 (if not then we can swap over).
In this kit, you get
- 2 x H4 Hi/Lo Globes (4300K)
- 2 x Slim line 55W 12V Ballasts
- 2 x Ballast mounting kits
- 1 x loom / wiring harness
- Easy to follow instructions with pictures.
You dont need anything else - it is totally complete and ready for insane super bright lights.
Voltage ... The globes I sell work on both 12 and 24V. But the ballasts and wiring harness is either 12V or 24V. As almost all my sales are 12V I shall assume you need 12V. If by chance you need 24V then pls send me an message when you buy and let me know you need 24V. No price difference. I have both in stock.
Colour ... It is a wive's tale that one colour is brighter than another. As it happens, the more yellow the colour is, the better definition of colours is detected. So a tree looks green, a rock looks brown and a kangaroo looks grey. The more blue the colour is, the more everything looks the one colour (grey) making it harder to spot skippy. I offer 4300K as my standard colour and unless I hear from you I will send you 4300K. But if you want 6000K then I can supply that instead for no additional charge. Just send me an message upon purchase.
I also list 8000K, 10000K, 12000K and 15,000K in my store. They are a bit more expensive being a much less popular option and volumes are a lot lower. Here's the link ...
The globes and ballasts plug into the harness supplied. The harness plugs into one of your car's headlight sockets and that's how it gets to know to turn the lights on and switch between high and low beam. Hook the harness up to the battery for good power and earth both ballasts and you are done. That's all there is to it.
There is no need for a mechanic or auto elec - you can do this yourself at home. No special tools required and job takes about 15 minutes.
When the globes switch between hi and lo the core of the globe moves in and out. The globe stays on all the time so there is no heating up or loss of light between beams. There is a light shield that stops light hitting the bottom of the reflector in low beam. When the core shifts to high beam position, not only does the bright spot move into the "focal point" of the light but it also shines through a slot in the shield that allows light to hit the bottom of the reflector that then sends light upwards.
I am in Melbourne and I stand by my 12 month warranty. When I was setting up I went through about 10 suppliers in China who all offered me a warranty but I found these to be useless. What's the point replacing rubbish with more rubbish - that didn't solve my problems. I have done the miles and gone through the pain to find the best components from China, Korea, Japan and Germany depending upon the kit. Remember, a cheap kit is not cheap once you throw it out. Face it - if you did a ballast, can you see yourself posting it back to Hong Kong? No! But I'm only in Melbourne and I'm here to look after you. Also, my kits are all 55W not 35W. That's 60% brighter. And you get local support.
My warranty covers you for replacement parts for 12 months. It covers blown or non functioning globes and ballasts. Together we will go through a few simple steps to work out if you have a globe or ballast or wiring problem and then I send the required part to you. You get more than just a warranty when you buy from us - we offer after sales support and answer any questions if not covered by our easy to follow instructions and trouble shooting sheet. And down the track if you wish to purchase spares for a big trip, upgrade or change colour or replace a part out of warranty we sell all the components separately here on as well...
H4 HID Globes .. ($45 ea)
H4 Hi/Lo Wiring Harness .. ($35)
These are considerably brighter than factory. Imagine 6 to 8 times better. So not just brighter light also significantly greater distance.
What's more, being 55W they draw less power and produce less heat than your standard lights.
HID lights work by passing electricity through xenon gas. There is no fragile element. To blow a globe you have to physically break it.
I stock these kits and they are ready to send to you. They get posted to any where in Australia for $19.50 registered.
