The G-MAX AS-03 is General Tire\'s Ultra High PerformanceAll-Season tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans looking for tires that suit their year-round driving needs. TheG-MAX AS-03 is designed to combine ultra high performance handling with all-season traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even in light snow.

The G-MAX AS-03 molds its all-season tread compound into a directional tread design featuring stable shoulders, independent intermediate blocks and a continuous center rib to combine dry road handling with hydroplaning resistance and wintertime traction in light snow. A high void-to-tread ratio and V-shaped sweeping lateraland longitudinal grooves curve from the center of the tread design to its shoulders to help evacuate water and promote hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. These design features also create pockets throughout the pattern that expose the edges of adjacent lugs to promote light snow traction. Three-dimensional sipes increase the number of snow-biting edges to aid wintertime traction, as well as lock together to enhance dry and wet handling.

The tire\'s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound, jointless polyamideon top of polyester body plies to combine cornering stability with high-speed durability. Additionally, General\'s Reactive Contour Technology allows the tire to react to differing road conditions and maintain contact with the road for increased driving confidence and treadwear.

There one of morequiet ones I have used and the performance in rain is amazing as well as on drypavement. I would say if you want a great all around performance tire this is the one for you. I drive it about 60 miles round trip all the time and sometimes the track and i love them.
Review from August 2, 2016Rating: 6.14Labeling these tires as ultra high performanceis a stretch of the imagination at best. They handle more like a touring tire or possibly an entry level performance tire. Dry traction is not very good and the overwhelming sidewall flex negates the addition of the track suspension setup that I have on my MINI. If I were not on a budget, these tires would have been replaced by now. At my first opportunity, I am going to but a set of dedicated summer tires and a separate set of winter tires. These are the first set of UHP all season tires I have owned and will also be the last. My MINI handles like a Buick with these installed! I will say that they are great in the rain though. Wet traction is fairly decent and they don\'t want to hydroplane at all. The road noise prompted me to return the car to the shop that installed the tires to look for a possible manufacturer defect. There is a constant drone inside the car that I have never heard on any other set of tires on any car. They are loud enough to distort the music over the radio! The last set of General Exclaim UHP tires I owned were excellent and lasted what seemed to be forever. I would absolutely not recommend these tires to anyone.
Review from August 2, 2016Rating: 6.73I\'ve had several of these tires now.Living in MA since I was born, I\'m used to dealing with potholes bad winter driving and the associated issues. I would say I drive relatively spirited more so in the past (cornering and from a stop). I would say if you aren\'t doing a ton of miles and you are not too worried about winter driving and potholes these would be a great buy for the price. I drove these year round for the year and a half.I\'ve had to replace a couple due to tires going flat after hitting potholes. I watch out and dodge potholes. I was doing a lot of traveling work on these tires. I probably put a good 20K miles on only highway driving. (15K other)The sidewalls are too thin for my taste.Highway: They perform reasonably well, decent amount of road noise, especially as your tread wares down. I noticed a bit of floating at higher speeds in hydroplaning weather. Still steady at speed in heavy rain. At highway speeds or less with a snowy/icy/slick highway itcan be kind of sketchy making transitions to another lane that is less plowed or where others haven\'t driven in a while. Be careful on really slick weather. Generally not the smoothest ride, but it is safe. Tread will get eaten in a non uniform fashion if you like to be spirited in off ramps.City/ town roads: Seriously watch out for the potholes. Does pretty well during non highway driving during spring/summer/fall. Great handling in the dry and wet when warm. In snow does OK when powder, Slick/ ice these ---- a little bit.Pros: Cost efficient, decent quality, good for the average driver, average tireware, good handling in dry and most wet, nice grab on pavementCons: watch tire pressure in subzero or freezing, A lot of low tire pressure warnings. Bad handling in winter driving. Not the best tire for a spirited driver. Thin sidewall/ prone to punctures. Some cracking weathering on tires from weather in HOT summer and veryCOLD winter. Parked outside all year.I\'m buying nicer tires next.
