CLUTCH AIR GAP SPEC:A6Clutch Hub Air Gap (free space between clutch hub& pulley) .022\" to .057\" of an inch

Press clutch plate onto compressor until clearance between

clutch plate and pulley is .094\" (2.38 mm). Install and tighten shaft

nut to 20 ft. lbs. (27 N.m). Using feeler gauge, ensure air gap

between clutch plate and pulley is .022-.057\" (.56-1.45 mm).

[link removed by eBay]Shaft Seal Install Tip:The RUBBER side of the 14mm DOUBLE LIP shaft seal installs and goes INSIDEthe compressor, rubber side does NOTface outward.It is best to \"pre-stretch\" and\"precondition\" the shaft seal BEFORE installation. To pre-stretch and precondition the seal you MUST lube BOTH the sealand thetool with AC Oil. Then you push the seal BACKWARDSover the tool. To do thisyou willbedoing this in the opposite direction than howthe seal will be installed in the compressor. A shaft seal Protector is REQUIREDfor GM compressor shaft seal installation. The tool protects, expands, and stretchesthe Teflon (Plastic) Lipseal to installthe seal.Without the tool you WILL damage to the new shaft seal if you nick, cut, or improperly install the new seal.The Shaft sealprotector isREQUIRED if you are to install a seal without damagingthe new seal. Without the tool how will you expand the Teflon Lip seal to install it?Teflon seals arenot likeother rubber seals.Teflon seal areactually manufactured with a smaller inside diameter than the actual compressor shaft. That is why you MUST use this tool to properly install the new seal.
