Hello, this listing isfor a completely rebuilt cylinder head for a Ford small inline six cylinderengine. This head will fit all 144through 250 cid engines from 1960 through 1981.If you are using this head on a 1969 or older engine you will need to switchto the newer carburetor (which is much bigger and gives a nice increase inpower) or buy an adapter from Classic Inlines for $35.00. Originally this was a 1980 200 head, castingnumber is EOBE and the date code is 2A12. These are the best of the US made heads asthey have the largest ports and intake manifold; they also have factory hardenedexhaust seats. This cylinder head hasbeen completely rebuilt and upgraded.Most machine shops unfamiliar with these engines simply do stockrebuilds, nothing upgraded. There ismuch more to getting maximum longevity and performance from these littleengines. The work done to this head isas follows:

Cleaningand Inspection: This headhas been hot tanked and magnafluxed. Ithas no cracks or crack repair. Allthreaded holes have been chased, and all freeze plugs have been replaced.

MachineWork: After cleaning new valve guide inserts were installed. I use top quality SBI thick walled cast ironvalve guides. Valve size remains stockat 1.75x1.38. Surface of the cylinderhead was milled .040. This is requiredto keep compression stock. Modern headgaskets are twice as thick as the originals.Most replacement pistons also have a lower pin height then originals, ifthe head is not milled compression can drop into the 7.00:1 range. This head will keep compression at the stock8.50:1 range. If you would like it increasedI can mill the head more for an additional fee. Please inquire.

Parts andAssembly: This headwas assembled with good used original Ford valves, neoprene valve stem sealsand new valve springs. The OEM Fordvalves are superior to any valves available on the aftermarket. Valve springs are new Pioneer 302 Fordreplacement. The stiffer 302 springsare just as important as hardened seats for the engine to last on unleadedfuel. Stock 200 springs are too lightand allow the valve to bounce when it contact the seats. I have seen 200 heads rebuilt with stocksprings and as little as 5,000 miles requiring a valve job because the seatswere so badly worn.

Porting: Aftermachining to open up for the larger valves this head has been pocketported. The area under the valves havebeen smoothed and blended into the port.The combination of the porting, and springs should yield a10-15hp gain over a stock cylinder head.
