Distributor installation is simplewith just2 electrical spade connections under the end of the coil cover.One wireforfull 12 volt switchedpower and the other can be used to connect an electronic tachometer. Greatly simplifies underhood wiring by eliminatingany factory ballast resistors, resistance wires,or Duraspark / ECU / computer control boxes. Another bonus is thatnearly all partsare readily available and willinterchange with the GM HEIs: cap, rotor, coil, pickup, module, vacuum canister, etc.
INSTALLATION NOTE:
Check clearances on your particular application - the HEIlarge capis about 5.5\" across. When replacing your stock distributor these may not line up with the same rotor location,you mayhave a new positionfor the#1 plug wire on the cap and have to adjust the other wires accordingly. Replace older mechanical voltage regulators to solid state (transistorized)regulators for best performance and to prevent ignition module failure.
