Incorporating Fumoto's most compact ball valve, Fumoto's S series valves are designed to fit cars, light trucks, vans and select commercial engines. The S series offers a short 5mm nipple which allows you to attach a hose for convenient draining. S series are designed especially for general automotive users concerned about low ground clearance. Constructed of forged brass and stainless steel to exacting Japanese specifications, S series valves are designed to provide a lifetime of dependable and reliable service. To use the S valve, simply attach a hose to the nipple or use the optional SH-10 or SL-10 plastic socket and snap it onto the valve nipple. *Note that a hose and our plastic sockets are not included with this item.
Installation- Remove original drain plug and drain oil into appropriate receptacle.
- Insert Engine Oil Drain Valve and gasket into drain plug port and tighten.
- Make sure valve is closed and refill crankcase.
*A good rule of thumb is to install the valve by hand and then tighten an additional 1/8 - 1/4 turn with a wrench on the body. Do not over tighten. Do not tighten the valve at the hex head (found at the base of the nipple) - this can compromise the integrity of the valve and lead to damages.
**Some oil pans are designed with a recessed drain hole which may prevent the valve from being installed properly. If the valve cannot be tightened all the way without hitting the oil pan wall, do not install the Drain Valve on your vehicle. Adapters are available for some models.
Operation- To open lift control lever and turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees.
- To close simply turn the lever clockwise 90 degrees until locked in original position.
Drive carefully at all times, and if you run over any foreign object on the road pull over and check the valve for any damage or leak. N-Series valve (with nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low clearance.
