Core / Hurst short throw shifter kit for OE replacement:

  • 1996-2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck - 2.2L 4 cyl only
  • 1996-2003 GMC Sonoma pickup truck - 2.2L 4 cyl only
  • 1998-2000 Isuzu Hombre pickup truck - 2.2L 4 cyl only

  • ONLY FITS NV1500 5 speed manual trans - GM RPO MW2
    • Does NOT FIT 4.3L V6 models (NV3500)
    • Does NOT FIT older model years (T5)

  • Base configured for shifter cup receptacle height of 5/8" as original to these models
    • IF your transmission has been replaced, it MAY REQUIRE A DIFFERENT BASE. If you install the wrong one it will not work properly and could cause damage. Height can only be confirmed by removing shifter base and measuring transmission as shown in last pic.
  • IF YOU HAVE A BODY LIFT: a custom bracket may be needed to elevate stick

This is an updated version of discontinued Hurst # 3910112. Kit includes a Hurst chrome stick (# 8009) & classic knob, Core Shifters base w/ pre-installed OE lower pivot cup, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, floor boot adapter grommet, and installation instructions. Bulk parts; no retail package. Throw is reduced by ~ 30%.

The base is built by Core Shifters using readily available Hurst Billet Plus components (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but made in USA). It functions like any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter but in configuration Hurst does not offer. It does not have stops and does not need them; all modern internal rail trans have internal stops. This kit shares many of the same superior features & components found in Hurst Billet Plus Shifters, integrated into a unique, exclusive assembly:

  • Forged heat-treated billet steel gear selector stub
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & stainless steel fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum socket with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • 6061-T6 extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel cover with heat-treated spring retainer straps
  • CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum base
  • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
  • Rubber dust cover boot
  • Pan-head allen bolts with toothed lockwashers to mount stick
