THIS IS A REBUILT 70 390 / 401ENGINE , THE REASON I AM CALLING IT A 70 390 / 401 ENGINE IS THAT THE BLOCK AND CYLINDER HEADS ARE CORRECT 70 390 CASTINGS WITH THE RIGHT NUMBERS AND ALL , BUT THE ROTATING ASSEMBLY IS 72 UP 401 , THIS ALLOWS MORE CUBIC INCHES AND THE LATER STYLE CRANK ALLOWS MORE TRANSMISSION OPTIONS , ( I ALSO HAVE A PRETTY MUCH STOCK FRESH 70 390 ON ANOTHER LISTING), THIS ENGINEBORE IS .030 OVER , BORED AND HONED WITH DECK PLATES ,BLOCK HAS INTERNAL OIL MODS , ALL MACHINE WORK ON BLOCK IS DONE , LINE HONE , MAGGED , DECK,ALL FRESH NEVER RUN , CRANKSHAFT IS A 72 401 FORGED STEEL CRANKSHAFT , FRESH .010 / .010 ON RODS AND MAINS , ACL FULL GROOVE MAIN BEARINGS , CLEVITE ROD BEARINGS , RODS ARE STOCK AMC FORGED STEEL CONNECTING RODSTHAT HAVE BEEN MAGGED , POLISHED , SHOTPEENED , BUSHED FOR FLOATING PINS , ARP BOLTS RESIZED , ETC. STD. AMC 70 390 /401 DIMENSIONS , PISTONS AREWISECO D-SHAPED DISH FORGED PISTON AND RING KIT .030OVER , FLOATING PINS , DUAL SPIRALOCKS , THE RINGS ARE NEW FILE FIT RINGS THAT COME FROM WISECO IN THE PISTON KIT , THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FILED FOR RING GAPS YET SINCE NITROUS AND SUCH REQUIRE WIDER GAPS , THIS ENGINE HAS BEEN MOCKED UP AND ALL CLEARANCES CHECKED WITH A FEW DIFFERENT CAMSHAFTS , AFTER THE MOCK UP THE ROTATING ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN BALANCED BY OHIO CRANKSHAFT AND USES THE STD. EXTERNAL BALANCE OF THE 401 ENGINE , ASTOCK AMC71 401 BALANCER WAS USED TO RETAIN THE THREE HOLE LOWER PULLEY , A FOUR HOLE BALANCER IS ALSO AVAILABLE, YOUR CHOICE, AN SFI FLEXPLATE AND A CAST IRON NEW FLYWHEEL WERE USED , YOUR CHOICE OF FLEXPLATE OR FLYWHEEL , THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN MATCH BALANCED TO THIS ENGINE SINCE AN AUTO OR A STICK MAY BE USED DEPENDING ON THE CUSTOMER , I HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT CAM OPTIONS FOR THIS , THE CAM THAT I HAD SLATED FOR THIS ENGINE IS A CRANE HYDRUALICPOWERMAXCAM ,H-288-2 ,INTAKE LIFT IS .488 , EXHAUST LIFT IS .496 ,DURATION @ .050IS 226 DEGREES INTAKE / 230 DEGREES EXHAUST , LOBE CENTERS ARE 107 INTAKE 117 EXHAUST , CYLINDER HEADS ARE 51CC 291 CASTINGS WITH SLIGHT POLISH AND BLENDING , STAINLESS STEEL 2.02 INTAKE VALVES AND STAINLESS STEEL 1.68 EXHAUST , NEW SPRINGS , RETAINERS , LOCKS , MACHINED FOR POSITIVE SEAL VALVE SEALSAND HIGHER VALVE LIFT THAN STOCK HEADS ARE CAPABLE OF , CYLINDER HEADS HAVE BEEN DRILLED AND TAPPED FOR BOTH AMC INTAKE BOLT PATTERNS JUST LIKE THE EDELBROCK AND INDY HEADS SO WHATEVER INTAKE IS USED IT WILL NOT NEED SLOTTED , REBUILT OIL PUMP/ TIMING COVER ASSEMBLY , NEW OIL PICKUP AND STOCK OIL PAN , CLOYES DOUBLE ROLLER CHAIN AND GEARS , HARDENED CHROME MOLY PUSHRODS , CRANE GOLD ROLLER ROCKERS , FEL PRO GASKETS , NEW CHROME VALVE COVERS INCLUDED IN THE ASKING PRICE .

THIS ENGINE IS DISSASSEMBLED RIGHT NOW AWAITING ABUYER , IT CAN BE SOLD AS IS OR I CAN ASSEMBLE THE ENGINE , IF YOU WANT A TURN KEY ENGINE THAT IS AN OPTION ALSO , I HAVE SEVERAL INTAKE AND CARB COMBOS AND SEVERAL IGNITION CHOICES FROM STOCK NUMBERS MATCHING POINTS DISTRIBUTOR OR ELECTRONIC IGNITION , I HAVE ONE STOCK 70 390 CAST IRON INTAKE BUT IT IS ALSO BEING OFFERED WITH ANOTHER BASICALLY STOCK 70 390 I HAVE FOR SALESO THE FIRST ONE TO SELL WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF THE STOCK INTAKE AND MOTORCRAFT CARB , I HAVE SEVERAL ALUMINUM INTAKES AND HOLLEY OR EDELBROCK CARB OPTIONS , I ALSO HAVE AN OFFENHAUSER DUAL CARB INTAKE WITH DUAL EDELBROCK 1405 CARBS FOR AN EXTRA COST OF 600.00 , IT IS ALSO BEING OFFERED AS AN OPTION FOR A 401 ENGINE I AM SELLING SO AGAIN THE FIRST ENGINE TO SELL WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF THAT INTAKE CARB COMBO AND I JUST HAVE ONE OF THOSE SETUPS , THE INTAKE AND CARB COMBOS ,IGNITION, WATER PUMP , BRACKETS , PULLEYS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AN EXTRA COST , I DO NOT MARK UP PARTS SO YOU WILL ONLY PAY WHAT THEY COST ME
