It measurestheamount ofoxygenin theexhaustgas.There is a direct relationship between the air-fuelmixtureof oxygen in the exhaust gas. The oxygensensor determineswhetherthe exhaust istoo rich (fuel level high)or too lean (oxygen / air level high).Oxygen sensor immediatelysentsignal toECM (engine control module). The ECM then continuallysignals the mixture control to deliver a richer or leaner to delivera richer or leanermixture during the engine operation.
