This Pontiac 400 Crate Engine by Blue Monkey Performance would be EXCELLENT to bring your Firebird/Trans Am, Tempest, GTO/Goat, LeMans, etc to life! This engine is custom built and can be built with a smooth or semi rough muscle car idle. If you are using an A/T, a stock or higher stall speed converter can be used depending on how you have us build the engine.
The balanced rotating assembly includes:
- 3.750\" stroke crank
- 6.625\" I-beam rods
- This engine will run on Premium pump gas
More special features of this engine include:
- New pistons
- Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal
- New Hydraulic flat tappet cam
- Cast iron Pontiac heads
- 1.440\" High performance valve springs set up to match camshaft
- We can build the engine with short valve covers to clear brake booster for applications that don\'t have much space between valve cover and brake booster.
- New push rods
- New Double row timing set
- New Melling Oil pump
- New Brass expansion plugs
- New Edelbrock Performer intake manifold
- All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look
This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and Edelbrock intake manifold.
This engine is spin tested, oil pressure, compression and etc. tested before shipping.
We don\'t build engine until we know the following.
What vehicle and transmission you have.
What will you be doing with vehicle? Racing? Cruising? Daily driver?
Do you want a rough or smooth idle? A higher stall speed is recommended if you want a more aggressive cam and have A.T. Specific stall speed will vary depending on what cam is used for your application and use.
Compression ratio will be selected when cam is selected.
Are you going to run pump premium fuel?
Do you have room for a high rise intake manifold? Will air cleaner clear hood if we build engine with high rise intake manifold?
HP figures will vary depending on how you have us build this engine.
