- Requires drilling of the factory plastic door panel.
- Optimal performance when connected to a switched power source (ie. factory door light switch or aftermarket switch).
- Professional installation is highly recommended.
- Detailed product installation is NOT included or provided with this product.
- Test light output (brightness) first by connecting to (+) and (-) battery terminals. This will serve as max brightness to compare to when installed.
- Locate desired placement on lower side of inner plastic door panel. DO NOT INSTALL ON DOOR FRAME as water will reach the top of courtesy light and damage it.
- Remove door panel and check the location of install to ensure there is no obstruction (ie door pocket moldings).
- Locate factory dome light switch or constant 12v power source and switching ground (normally found on door lock latch). Another alternative is to extend wires and run into the cabin and connect to thedome light circuit.
- Check light output brightness. It should match the same output when you tested it directly to the battery. If brightness is NOT the same, locate an alternate power and grounding source. Keeptesting until you find a source that provides the same brightness level.
- Once you have located your power source, drill you door panel with the supplied hole saw, smooth out any rough spots. Remove the locking nut off the courtesy light, slide the power wires in through theopening and then the light housing. Re-install locking nut from the back side of door panel. Do not over tighten. You will want to temporarily re-install door panel and make sure the direction of output iswhere you want it to be. Adjust as needed then tighten the locking nut.
