General Installation Instructions:
With the Super Duty inserts, it's all about patience! They are not hard to install or line up if you follow these instructions. All you need for an absolutely perfect install right in your own driveway are the following household items:
- a temperature of 50(F) or higher
- bottle of Windex or equivalent window cleaner
- a few paper towels
To begin: clean the surface of the grille with Windex. This is a strong cleanser and will ensure that all the wax and soap residue is removed from the grille of the truck so the decal adhesive can stick properly.
Second: Spray Windex again on the letter of the grille that you are going to start with (NOTE!!! The letters are angled and will only fit one way, it is ESSENTIAL that you use the Windex here!) After the grille indentation has a good amount of spray on it, set the decal in the indentation on the grille. The decal will slide around and not seem to stick - this is exactly what is supposed to happen.
Third: Once you have the decal aligned in the indentation the way you want it, start pressing out the Windex fluid with your fingers and drying it up with the paper towels. This will also allow you to squeeze out any air bubbles.
Finally: Once you're sure that you've pressed out all the fluid, let the decal sit at least 30 minutes before attempting to move it or check to see if it's stuck there. Once the 30 minutes is up, to check the adhesion, simply place your finger on the top of the decal and see if it still slides around. If not, you're good to go. If it does, then you have not pressed out all the fluid.
