- HOW DO I INSTALL THIS KIT?
- The bearing support bracket mounts securely to the subframe of your truck using the high tensile hardware included in your kit. The steering shaft extension installs onto the sector shaft of the gearbox below the pitman arm. The heavy duty support bearing installs onto the bracket and the steering shaft extension is inserted through the bearing. The entire kit is bolt-on and requires no special modifications to be made to your vehicle. Installation can usually be completed in as little as 1 hour.
- ARE THE COMPONENTS COATED?
- Yes, the majority of the components in this kit have been coated or treated to prevent rust, oxidation and other types of corrosion that can be encountered from both daily driving and off-road use. The support bracket and the bearing carrier are Teflon coated, the hardware is both zinc plated and black oxide coated, while all other components are stainless steel.
- WILL THIS KIT STOP THE "DEATH WOBBLE"?
- As all Dodge and Mopar enthusiasts are aware, a common problematic design flaw which these vehicles suffer from, is an excessive amount of steering play in the gearbox and joints from the factory. Due to the extreme nature of the vibrations this can cause, the condition has become commonly known as the "Death Wobble". Our steering stabilizer kit has been engineered and proven to significantly reduce the effects of, or even completely eliminate the "Death Wobble" by creating a solid pivot point for the factory steering components to rely on.
Heavy Metal provides a lifetime warranty on all products to be free from manufacture and material defect for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle. Warranty is only valid on the products within the kit and do not extend to the rest of the vehicle or surrounding parts. Lifetime warranty is non-transferable and proof of purchase may be requested upon redemption of warranty privileges. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs of removing the defective part from the vehicle, costs for postage to return the item, and any reinstallation costs. Upon receipt of the item, Heavy Metal will be liable for either repair or replacement of the part at their option along with shipping the repaired or replacement item back to the original purchaser. Items replaced will be matched as similarly to the item returned as best as possible. Heavy Metal reserves the right to make changes to the material, design, and specifications of the replacement item without prior notice. The Lifetime Warranty does not cover cosmetic damages or any product that has been: altered, abused, installed on a different application (other than what it was advertised for), installed incorrectly, or used in any racing/competition applications. If the replacement item is needed before the defective item is shipped back, the purchaser must leave a deposit for the full purchase price which will be refunded once the defective item is returned and deemed warrantable.
