This kit is for your glove box that has the broken hinges.OK, if you're reading this then let me explain why this is more than just a glove box lid.There
is an Audi TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) about this situation. This
is NOT a recall and there is no warranty extension on the part. It
just means they have seen some of them break and they have a repair that
will keep it from happening again.What
happens to your old glove box (Shown in the second picture in this
listing) is one or both of the hinges break. This happens because the
"Brake" for the glove box (Shown in the diagram as #12) allows it to pop
open too quickly and the hinges can't take the stress over time.This kit includes everything that is listed in that TSB from Audi to fix your glove box lid and prevent it from happening again!This kit starts with the brand new glove box lid with newer design hinges that are a little stronger than the old design.Also
included are new hinge pins (Quantity of 2) AND the new brake assembly
that keeps the lid from opening so quickly and repeating the damage to
the new lid!This is not a super simple to replace item!
BE AWARE that the glove box lock has to be changed over to the new
lid. We do have some images straight from the Audi service manual to
help illustrate exactly how to do it but it does still take some
mechanical ability.If
you're very mechanically included you may be able to do it. If not,
you can have any good automotive repair shop perform the replacement for
probably much less that your local dealer would charge!If
you're not SURE that this is the glove box lid for your A4 just email
me your 17 digit VIN number and I'll be all too glad to double-check for
you using the Audi Parts Catalog (ETKA).
