2000 Nissan Maxima Set Of 4 Chrome Rims-17". Condition is Used.

Here's the deal. These rims were the original rims for this car back in 2000. When i bought it, I had the alloy rims dipped in chrome. In 2019, the chrome started chipping, leading to the constant deflation of tires and putting air in.

This led me to get them re-chromed. This is the issue...

The company that chromed them drilled the lug holes too wide. I found this out when i got them put on (both machine and hand torqued) and they started wobbling. I thought that the factory lugs were the issue in terms of shortness, so i bought longer ones. Still they wobbled.

Finally, frustrated, i took them to a eim shop where they informed me that the holes had been drilled too wide. The regular mm for the hole is 66. They had been drilled to 68". I called the rechroming company and they denied that they had done it, so now I was stuck with the set. I asked them if there was anything i coukd do to fix it.

Now here's the part where the REAL car enthusiasts and problem solvers come in...

The rechroming company advised to get round steel shafts to insert in each hole, making it the required size. After that, the lugs would correctly fit. Looking online, the only places making these shafts were those that were fitring trucks.

I said that to say this: If you are interested in purchasing this set, and you work on cars, are a highly creative mechanic or are interested in a challenge like this, i say go for it. Again, they are newly chromed and I drove them twice on my ride, but due to the bigger size of the drilled holes, they wobbled. So please keep in mind what i wrote. Otherwise, you'll be stuck like me.
