OVERVIEW

The Michelin Pilot Sport ZP is a summer high performance run flat tire manufactured for high performance passenger vehicles. Michelin warranties the tire for 30,000 miles.

This summer tire has remarkable traction in dry and wet weather and will grip the road well in those conditions. However, this tire is not suited for winter weather and it is not safe to use it in during that season. The tire’s asymmetrical tread pattern enhances the tire’s wet traction and the circumferential tread grooves help disperse water from beneath the footprint of the tire, boosting its resistance to hydroplaning.

The tire is a run flat model thanks to Michelin’s Zero Pressure, or ZP, Technology. It provides temporary, limited support to the vehicle after the loss of air pressure. The tire can go up to 50 miles at the maximum speed of 50 mph, while it still supports the weight of the vehicle and passengers.

The Green X Technology lessens the tire’s rolling resistance during driving, which lowers the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The reduced rolling resistance also slows down the tire’s wear rate, increasing the tire’s tread life. The tire becomes economically conscious and environmentally friendly in the process.

The Pilot Sport ZP offers a more stable driving experience. The FAZ, or Filament at Zero, Technology provides the tire with boosted steering responsiveness and improved road feel and feedback to the driver. The tire’s cornering ability is enhanced with the combination of the tread pattern and the tire’s reinforced structure and the tire’s Variable Contact Patch, or VCP, which maximizes the contact patch area in such situations.
